'37' Homeowners Program (Existing Mutual Help)

The '37' Homeowners Program provides for the enforcement of existing MHOA (Mutual Help Occupancy Agreements).  It operates in accordance with NAHASDA (Native American Housing Assistance and Self-Determination Act 1996), existing MHOAs and current policies and procedures to ensure that the units remain as current assisted stock and affordable in the manner of the original intent of the Mutual Help Program.  Contact a housing manager at (580) 421-8800 for more information.

Homeowners Program

The Homeowners Program allows for the new construction of homeownership units in accordance with NAHASDA.  Contact housing management services at (580) 421-8854 or (580) 421-8853 for more information. 

Program Requirements:

  • Native American
  • Low income
  • Payment based on 15% of adjusted income
  • Must meet all eligibility and selection criteria
  • Comply with homeowners agreement and Chickasaw Nation housing policies

Pride in Homeownership Program

The pride in homeownership program is an incentive program to recognize and reward participants in the homeowners programs for their efforts in maintaining their home and yard.  The contest runs from May through August.  The Chickasaw Nation is divided into three regions for the contest.  Participants enter the contest by contacting a housing representative.  Each month two winners from each region receive a free month's rent as the "Legislator's Award".  In addition, a winner is chosen each month from the recipients of the "Legislator's Award" to receive the "Lt. Governor's Award," which is a $50 gift certificate.  At the conclusion of the contest, a grand prize winner is chosen from the recipients of the "Lt. Governor's Award" to receive the "Governor's Award," which is a $250 gift certificate.  Contact housing management services at 421-8800 for more information.

Chuka Chukmasi

Chuka Chukmasi (beautiful home) is a secondary market home loan program.  Through Chuka Chukamasi you may purchase or refinance a home.  In addition, closing-cost and down-payment assistance is available.

Program Requirements:

  • Must be Chickasaw or Chickasaw Nation Employee 
  • Must qualify on own merits
  • No income guidelines
  • Stable employment
  • Primary residence
  • Nation wide (continental United States)

Home Improvement Loan Program

  • Must be Chickasaw or Chickasaw Nation Employee
  • Available only in the State of Oklahoma due to licensing laws
  • Must have fee simple title to property
  • Maximum loan is $30,000 and maximum term is 10 years
  • Must qualify on your own merits
  • Work must be completed by a contractor
  • Must be in 1st or 2nd lien position

Construction Loan Program

  • Available only in the State of Oklahoma due to licensing laws
  • Must be Chickasaw or Chickasaw Nation Employee
  • Must be pre-approved for permanent financing through the Division of Housing and Tribal Development Chuka Chukmasi program
  • No sub-contracting by applicants
