Second Council House

Council House (1858-1897)

In 1858, a two-story brick building was built on what is now the Capitol Square in Tishomingo, Oklahoma.  The Second Council House provided a larger, permanent building to house the offices of the Chickasaw Governor and National Positions.

By 1894, the brick capitol was deemed unsafe and scheduled to be torn down.  Demolition began in 1897.
